Plaza de Retiro is the premier Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) in New Mexico.  We are a family owned and operated corporation that has been located in Taos, New Mexico for 31 years.

 

      You may have questions about retiring at Plaza de Retiro.  First of all Plaza de Retiro will provide the range of care that all seniors will one day need.  Our care covers independent living in one of our spacious apartments to skilled nursing care in our modern medical center.  An important aspect of retiring at Plaza de Retiro is that you will not have to move from facility to facility as your need for care increases.  We will provide all of the care that you and your spouse will need for the rest of your life here, on our 10-acre campus at a very reasonable cost.

 

      At Plaza de Retiro you have two fees the initial entrance fee which is determined by the size of the apartment. and the service fee which is set at the time you sign your contract.  These fees cover the majority of your costs at Plaza De Retiro.  Extra cost are meals, medical supplies, and your personal expenditures. 

 

      The hallmark of Plaza de Retiro is that all residents are entitled to lifetime residency in a unit of their choice or admittance into the med-center with unlimited nursing care at no additional cost.

 

      Our campus is designed with all of the comforts of home and with the security and peace of mind of a small community. At Plaza de Retiro you will enjoy private independent living designed for maximum comfort, convenience and safety. There are no steps or obstacles to hinder your normal everyday activities. Common areas are designed to prevent slips and falls.  Also, there are covered porches to provide you with sheltered walkways. 

 

      In your unit the doors are 36 inches wide.  The bathrooms have grab bars, and slip-resistant showers.  Each apartment is wheelchair accessible. Most importantly each apartment is equipped with a wireless 24-hour emergency call system that lets you alert the nursing staff when you need help.  At Plaza de Retiro we provide nursing care 24 hours a day.  Licensed and trained staff members are in the Med-center will administer to all of your needs.

A Message From the Administrator

 

      Plaza de Retiro’s Dining room serves 3 meals a day.  The costs of meals are extra.  However, the price is reasonable and the food is GREAT!  We can even cater to special diets as ordered by a doctor. The coffee is on all day so come by for a cup anytime.  The dining room hosts several functions throughout the year.  These include Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter and many other Monthly events.

 

      Each retirement is different.  At PdR we set out with a basic plan and over time we can customize our services to meet your individual needs.  We are a small family owned and operated community, and that gives us the ability to customize a retirement just for you. 

 

      Plaza de Retiro is devoted to caring for each of its residents as if they were family.  We strongly believe in the personal touch at Plaza de Retiro and we hope that one day we can consider you as part of that family.
